Bothell, WA, June 7, 2010 – Superior Essex and Leviton Network Solutions jointly announced today that the largest hotel in Texas, the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, has completed a significant technology facelift using a combination of copper and optical fiber networks from NextLAN Systems, a suite of high performance cabling products co-engineered by the two most trusted leaders in the cabling industry.
The downtown Dallas hotel complex spans roughly the breadth of a city block. It boasts nearly 2,000 guest rooms and 70 meeting rooms, with the largest accommodating 5,000 reception guests. Virtually every area of the massive hotel and conference center is now connected by NextLAN.
DMH Technologies (Dallas, Texas), which provides expert communications design and installation solutions, executed the forward thinking communications vision. The applications modernize the hotel’s offerings with all the bells and whistles to satisfy any Internet junkie or demanding convention attendee as well as accomplishes the goal of eliminating down time.
Guests now have ample headroom for data exchange and the flexibility to bring in private equipment to establish independent data networks onsite. And, specialized data needs are met with the addition of a new communications closet that allows conferences to bring in their own switches and equipment to temporarily expand the hotel’s network and establish a private, secure, onsite data network.
